Woman wants to move after third murder at 'Great Hills' in Austin

Posted: Updated:

Saturday we told you about 2 suspicious deaths at a Northwest Austin apartment complex called Great Hills off of Morado Circle.

Austin Police confirmed that they responded to the same building back in October.  That's when police say 36-year-old Elizabeth Garcia shot and killed her 46-year-old boyfriend John Haney.

Garcia allegedly did it in self defense after an argument over money.

Garcia is charged with murder.

Austin Police aren't sure yet if that alleged murder is related to the 2 bodies found this weekend.

But looking back at our footage from October -- not only is it the same apartment building, it's the exact same apartment unit.

Sunday afternoon we spoke to a young woman who lives in the building and wishes to remain anonymous.

She heard the gunshots back in October and this time she heard 5 gunshots.

"As soon as the woman was convicted in October, I saw them tear everything out of the apartment.  I mean they brought...not a dump truck, but they cleared that whole thing out so it's hard to think they're connected.  But it's hard not to think they're not connected," she said.

The young woman tells us she's hoping to move to another building or another complex.  But she says the apartment managers didn't appear to want to re-locate her without charging her for breach of contract.

Austin P.D. is expected to release more details on this weekend's incident on Monday.
