Delco Barber Shop Stands Behind Local Bronco

Posted: Updated:
UPPER DARBY, Pa. -

An Upper Darby barber shop is buzzing for the Broncos this week.

Denver linebacker Steven Johnson Jr.'s dad owns the place. FOX 29's Drew Dickman paid him a visit Friday in Delaware County.

It's home to buzz cuts and Broncos fans.

"If somebody requested to put that Bronco in their head I'd probably do it for them," Steven Johnson Sr. said.

His son will suit up for Denver in front of millions of people on Sunday.

"Tears might come out of my eyes because it's always been a dream of ours to make be able to make it to the biggest stage in football and here we are and the opportunity is there. I just hope he has an opportunity to make a play," he said.

The backup linebacker made perhaps his biggest play against the Eagles this season, blocking this punt and returning it for a touchdown.

If the big game was Broncos versus the Birds, he'd have some tough decisions to make.

"I'd probably have on a Broncos jersey and an Eagles hat. You got to represent the home town team. We all grew up as Eagles fans, but my son is a member of the Denver Broncos, so I got to support them," Johnson said.

One thing the barber never supports is giving bad haircuts, even for Seahawks fans.

"I'd be cordial to them and what have you, unless they start that trash talking and then we'd just go back and forth," he said.

Johnson walked on at the University of Kansas after injuring his knee while playing at Strath Haven High School.

Despite a strong college career, the linebacker had to claw his way to the NFL, signing on with Denver last season as an un-drafted free agent.

Dad expects to see plenty of mile-high salutes on Super Bowl Sunday.

"No score, I can't put no score on it, but I feel strongly that the Broncos will win this," Johnson said.

Dad and the rest of the Johnson family will be at MetLife Stadium when their son takes the field Sunday.

As far as his haircut goes, we're told he's already well taken care of.
