Raw Cookies Class coming to The Community House

Learn how to make raw snowball cookies, raw pecan sandies, and raw chocolate chip cookies during a special class at The Community House in Birmingham on Feb. 10 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The class will be taught by pastry chef Chamile Ashton who specializes in gourmet raw foods. The cost is $32.

Raw Almond Cacao Cookies

2 c processed almonds
1/2 c almond butter
1/4 c tahini (sesame seed butter)
2T sprouted omega blend (flax, chia, brown rice)
1T liquid vanilla extract
1/4 c cacao nibs
1/4 c palm sugar
1/2 c liquid sweetener (agave, coconut nectar, honey, maple)
pinch salt

Process almonds until there are no large pieces, or until powdered.

Add all other ingredients and process until all is combined. Scoop out equal size balls and flatten them.  You may eat these chewy or dehydrate up to 8 hours for more solid cookies. *(if you do not have tahini you may use more almond butter)
