Some of the best tattoo artists from around the world met in Austin this weekend.
The 12th annual Star of Texas Tattoo Art Revival wrapped up Sunday evening.
Those who attended could look through the portfolios of 300 artists and get ink right on the spot.
The event has grown tremendously over the years; starting out in a hotel, then moving to the Palmer Events Center and this year it was at the Austin Convention Center.
Organizers say picking the "tattoo of the day" was more difficult then in years past because of the wide-range of talent.
"With popularization, television and education, it's grown where people are getting their first tattoo as their whole sleeve or their whole back. Well-planned out and beautiful, so every year it gets harder and harder," says Mercy Molkenthen, event organizer.
For those who weren't interested in getting a tattoo, there was entertainment, a variety of vendors and a gallery showcasing dozens of fine-art pieces.
