The owner of a popular valley restaurant was arrested by Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies on Wednesday.

Bret Frimmel was arrested at the Uncle Sam's restaurant located near 32nd Street and Shea.

He faces charges of forgery, identity theft and trafficking in stolen ID's.

The restaurant's manager, Lisa Norton, was also arrested.

According to court paperwork, the investigation dates back to July when search warrants were executed at three of the businesses.

Nine people were taken into custody at that time.

During the investigation, authorities learned Frimmel personally entered all the employees' social security numbers from his laptop at his home.

Authorities say four of those numbers were fake.

Five of the suspects came forward and admitted to committing forgery and ID theft.

The paperwork says Frimmel reportedly said he did not care about the employees' immigration status.
