Grand jury indicts parents in starving death of Emani Moss

Posted: Updated:
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -

Two Gwinnett County parents accused of starving a 10-year-old girl to death have been indicted by a grand jury.

Eman and Tiffany Moss are charged with murder and cruelty to children in the death of Emani Moss, according to the Gwinnett Daily Post.

The body of Emani was found stuffed in a trash can in November.  Police say the girl's father, Eman Moss, called 911 and said that his daughter drank some sort of chemical and was dead.

Police said that Emani may have been dead several days before her body was found. Eman Moss told police that he did not feed the child in seven days and never called for help. The body weighed just 32 pounds at the time of her death.

Police said she died from prolonged starvation, but also said she had been beaten repeatedly over the years.

Two other young children of Tiffany Moss who were at the home remain in state custody, according to police.
