Video of suspects captured by surveillance cameras can be a powerful tool for investigators.

On Monday, police announced that a surveillance video helped lead them to a suspect accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

Police caught the suspect just days after releasing the video.

If Alexander Quihuis hadn't walked into a CVS pharmacy, police might not have caught him.

Investigators say minutes after raping the teen, surveillance cameras caught Quihuis walking in and out of the store.

The 29-year-old was arrested Friday afternoon after a three-week search.

Police say back in December, Quihuis lured the teen into his car near 16th Avenue and Union Hills.  She told police he offered to pay her $7 if she helped him find a nearby store.

Police say the brought the teen to a church parking lot where he forced her to have sex with him.

He then dropped the teen off at 9th Street and Union Hills, near a CVS.  Not only did surveillance cameras catch Quihuis walking in and out of the store, police say cameras also caught him driving away in the same car the teen described.

Investigators released the video last week.  A tipster recognized him and called the police.

During the assault, the teen says a pendant from her necklace broke off inside his car.  Police say after his arrest, they searched the vehicle and found her pendant.
