Pedestrian struck, killed in hit-and-run accident

MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - Police in Atlanta's northwestern suburbs are searching for suspects in a deadly hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian.

Marietta police say the collision occurred shortly after 3 a.m. Friday on North Marietta Parkway between Wallace Road and Interstate 75 in Marietta.

Authorities say an initial investigation found that a 20-year-old man was walking west on North Marietta Parkway in the far right turn lane when he was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle, which left the scene of the crash.

The man was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Marietta police say they have no known witnesses to the crash and ask anyone with information to contact them.
