A bicyclist who was hit and killed two weeks ago will be remembered this weekend with a memorial ride.
Please Be Kind to Cyclists will hold the memorial ride for Joseph Holan Saturday morning.
Last week, he was riding his bike on the frontage road of I-35, just south of University Boulevard in Round Rock.
The driver of a car was switching lanes and rear-ended Holan. The 44-year old lost his job two years ago and became a rolling billboard for advertisers while he rode his bike in high traffic areas.
Saturday's memorial ride starts at 9:30 AM in the REI parking lot in Round Rock. At the end of the mile-long ride, Please Be Kind to Cyclists and Holan's family and friends will place a white "ghost" bike at the site of the crash as a memorial.
Texas ranks fourth in the nation for vehicle/bicycle fatalities, only following New York, California and Florida.
