Round Rock police is warning citizens about a phone scam.
Police say they have received multiple calls from residents reporting they received calls from someone representing a Microsoft employee. The scammers are advising the resident of a computer problem and telling the resident that their personal information is needed to fix the problem.
Police say the scammers appear to be getting names and numbers from the phone book and are targeting names that many elderly have.
Police say never to give out personal information to unknown persons over the phone.
If you believe you have been a victim, contact Round Rock police at 512-218-5500.
