When there's a new baby in the family, everyone's really excited and that's what the holidays are all about: seeing children getting their first gifts. With holiday shopping for your friends and loved ones is in full gear, Vanessa Antonelli, owner of Nessalee Baby in New Jersey, says there are a number of must have item for parents and their newborns.

Antonelli says the mamas and papas galaxy mobile is the perfect gift at $179.

"I call it the Rolls Royce of mobiles," she says. "It plays music and it moves and as the child grows, these pieces down here they can pull on them and that will change the music."

Also on this year's must have list are team teething rings by Chewbeads. The rings are so hot right now they are hard to find on store shelves.

"Great for sports guys," she says. "If you have a dad in your life that loves sports and you want to get a gift for the baby but you sort of want it to be for the dad and the baby--it's fantastic."

Looking for something special for moms on the go? Gloves by 7AM also strap onto your baby's stroller.

"It's great because you don't have to continuously take your gloves on and off," Antonelli says. "You just stick your hands in... quickly do that and get right back in there as warm as your need to be."

The gloves are a perfect complement to the stop sign you can put on your baby's stroller, telling people to keep their germy hands away from your baby.

"When my son was first born he was three weeks old… I went to a big store pushing him around the in the stroller and all of a sudden this woman sticks her hands in the stroller," she says. "I felt like I didn't have the voice to say back off."

    McDonald's reported a lower profit for the first quarter as the world's biggest hamburger chain saw global sales remain weak.The Oak Brook, Ill.-based company said global sales edged up 0.5 percent at established restaurants.  In the U.S., the figure fell 1.7 percent as customer traffic declined.
