Bastrop PD investigates alleged kidnapping

Posted: Updated:

You don't often hear about an underage girl being kidnapped in place like Bastrop...especially, not from school property.

"At the point that we realized she disappeared from the school, we had our SRO's, myself, even the assistant chief had come out to participate and do the investigation," Sergeant Clint Nagy, with the Bastrop Police Department, said.

Nagy says according to the 15-year-old, she was standing in the parking lot of Bastrop High School when a Hispanic man, in his 30's or 40's, wearing all black clothes, knocked her unconscious and abducted her.

Nagy added, "{He was} driving a later model, 2002 to 2008, black Chevrolet truck with chrome spoke wheels."

Police eventually found her at Fisherman's Park at about 7:30 Wednesday night. It's only about a mile away from the high school and they also discovered she had her cell phone with her the entire time.

"We received a 911 call indicating a female was down there and that she needed EMS assistance," added Nagy. "It was from an eye witness."

Investigators say the 15-year-old was taken to an area hospital, but did not have any serious injuries.

"She is okay at this time. She's safe at home," added Nagy.

If you have any information about this incident, police want to hear from you.
