PHILADELPHIA -

A woman says she saw a possible abduction in the Spring Garden section of Philadelphia, and police have released surveillance video in hopes of identifying the suspect.

This happened Monday around 4:14 p.m. on the 1900 block of Green Street.

The 26-year-old witness told police she heard a female screaming for help and looked out the window. Then she saw a male following a female while she was walking away from him on Green Street.

Police said the male had exited a black Chrysler Coupe and attempted to grab the woman and pull her several times. He then allegedly picked the woman up and carried her to the vehicle parked at 19th and Green streets.

The female was struggling with the male and attempting to get away as he placed her into the back through the driver's side of the car drove away eastbound on Green from 19th, police say.

The woman was described as being black with medium complexion, wearing a gray sweatshirt and black pants. Police said the male was bald, wearing a dark-colored jacket, dark-colored pants and was driving a black Chrysler four-door sedan with a possible partial Pennsylvania tag that included "JFM."

If you see the suspect, police said do not approach him; call 9-1-1 immediately. To submit a tip, call 215-686-TIPS (8477), text to PPD TIP (773847) or you can do so anonymously using this online form.
