Salvation Army kicks off Christmas Kettle Campaign
The Salvation Army's Kettle Fundraising campaign is in full swing from now until Christmas Eve.
Organization officials have set a goal of just over $2 million this holiday season. That money will go toward year-round Salvation Army operations in both Travis and Williamson counties.
"The $2.1 million of course provides Christmas gifts, holiday meals, and other services during the Christmas season. Monies that are left over are used for year-round services to provide shelter, to provide other services to the needy," said Lieutenant Colonel Henry Gonzalez, Area Commander of Austin Salvation Army.
