It's the kind of follow up we like to bring to you -- two weeks ago, 2-year-old Bryson Head was pulled from a backyard pool -- essentially dead and now his family has something to be truly grateful for this Thanksgiving.

On Wednesday, Bryson and his family were there as all the paramedics, police officers and medical helicopter crews involved were recognized for saving his life.

"They saved my son's life like they said when they showed up.. there was no heart beat.. there was no breathing," said Bryson's mother, Autumn Head.

Autumn remembers the horrible day Bryson was pulled from the water.

"The baby was just.. he just looked so different.. it was really, really scary," she said.  "They were working on him and working on him and it was a long time before he ever started to get the slight pulse or anything... They never gave up on my son.  They never gave up on him."

More important, Bryson never gave up.

"We've asked him, 'Why are you in the hospital?' and he's like, 'Because I want to or 'cuz I got an owie," said Autumn.

.The family had a chance to say thank you -- the gift of a picture of Bryson in the hospital with a teddy bear, it has a special meaning for them.

"Our thing is I always tell him, 'Are you my teddy bear?'   You know we cuddle and I asked him in the hospital, 'Are you my teddy bear?' and he shook his head yes," said Autumn.

Something else that holds special meaning for the family this Thanksgiving.
