Police: Suspects In Sicklerville Burglary Spree Under Arrest

Posted: Updated:
SICKLERVILLE, N.J. -

Two men are suspected of committing dozens of residential burglaries in the Sicklerville section of Winslow Township, authorities say.

Daimer Kellam, 20, and Eric Schmitt, 29, are charged with multiple offenses, police said.

Since September, there have been approximately 65 residential burglaries and attempts with similar methods of entry, investigators say. The robbers would use a brick or similar item to smash out rear windows or doors to the residences.

Once inside, they would ransack the homes looking for valuable items, police say.

Detectives say they caught Kellam and Schmitt last Friday by following them as they attempted to burglarize a house on Chews Landing Road.

After lengthy interviews by detectives, both Kellam and Schmitt were charged with five counts of burglary, conspiracy, theft, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest. Both were sent to the Camden County Correctional Facility on $100,000 cash bail.

Police said additional charges are pending as detectives continue their investigation.
