MEDIA, Pa. (AP) - The older brother of a man charged with killing his girlfriend's baby has been ordered held for trial on charges of threatening the lead investigator at a suburban Philadelphia courthouse.
The Delaware County Daily Times said 33-year-old Jawwad Rushdi was in court Monday for a preliminary hearing. He is charged with terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct for allegedly threatening an Upper Darby detective and a female bystander at the courthouse last week.
His brother, 30-year-old Ummad Rushdi of York, is charged with kidnapping seven-month-old Hamza Ali from an Upper Darby home and killing him. The body has never been found.
The police affidavit says Jawwad Rushdi accused police of harassing his family.
Defense attorney William Davis said Rushdi's courthouse rant didn't rise to the level of terroristic threats.
