FedEx Truck Crashes After Police Chase

PHILADELPHIA -

SkyFOX flew over the scene where a FedEx truck that was stolen crashed Thursday afternoon at 25th and Willard streets in Philadelphia.

The truck came to a stop stuck on a sidewalk between two utility poles, and part of one light pole has come down on the truck along with some wires.

The truck was reported stolen so police were on the lookout when they spotted it in the area of 25th and Allegheny.

That's also where the suspect hit the side of a house, crashed into a pole at 25th and Willard and bailed.

Neighbors who say they saw the suspect driving recklessly before crashing tried to stop him as he got out and ran.

"Me and my son caught him down on Allegheny and started beating him by that time cops came. He ran through the alley into a basement. Then the cops apprehended him" James McCord said.

Police found the suspect hiding in the basement of an abandoned house. He's in custody facing charges.

    SkyFOX was live over the scene on the 1500 block of South Etting Street in South Philadelphia around 9:40 p.m. on Friday. Police say four people have been shot. According to authorities, a 3-year-old girl was shot, one time in the left side of her chest. She was transported to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and was pronounced dead.
