CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Jon Stewart, host of "The Daily Show" on Comedy Central, is not a big fan of Chicago style deep dish pizza and didn't hide his feelings about it on his show.

"It's a cornbread biscuit which you have melted cheese on and then in defiance of God and man, and all things God and Holy, you have poured uncooked marinara sauce on top, on top of the cheese," he said, in part, during his rant.

His bash goes further when he refers to our city's signature pie as a casserole, tomato soup in a bread bowl, and an "above ground marinara swimming pool."

"Deep dish pizza is not only not better than New York pizza…it's not pizza!" he exclaimed.

Meggie Limburgh of Lou Malnati's joined FOX 32 News Thursday night to respond to Stewart's comments.

"Chicago pizza is definitely better than New York pizza," she retorts. "In my opinion, I would rather have my tomato soup not on cardboard, which is what I think New York Style crust is like."

Mayor Emanuel stood by his city Thursday night, tweeting a photo of two Chicago pies and a sign reading: "Jon, Deep dish with dead fish. Love, Rahm."

"Dead fish" is a reference to the mayor's infamous 1988 gift to a pollster he didn't like. Although, in this case, he also left a Twitter comment saying: "No hard feelings."
