Riding down Lake Shore Drive on a Divvy bike is a bad idea

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

WARNING: Language in the video is NSFW.

While the circumstances of how this Divvy bike rider got onto Lake Shore Drive are unconfirmed, FOX 32 News is relieved she isn't hurt.

But the video above is a prime example of what NOT to do when you rent a ride from Chicago's bike sharing stations.

The lanes on Lake Shore Drive are narrow enough, without drivers veering away from a bike rider in order to avoid hitting her.

Not to mention the fact that there are no bike lanes in that area, the speed at which vehicles are traveling makes conditions dangerous for riders and it is just a bad idea for someone who is renting a bike to begin with.

Please, visitors, learn from this woman's mistake and keep the pretty blue bikes in the protected bike lanes. Thank you.

P.S. Wearing a helmet is ALWAYS a good idea, unlike the choice the woman made above.
