A new fund has been set up to help with the Onion Creek flood recovery effort.
State representatives Eddie Rodriguez and Paul Workman each put in a thousand dollars to kick it off.
This is not the first time a Texas Builders Foundation fund has been used to clean up a disaster.
A similar campaign helped the victims of the Grandbury tornado and the West fertilizer plant explosion.
A local neighborhood committee will help disperse the funds.
"The idea was really to trying to get a fund to try to provide what we think the people here need the most and that is the ability to rebuild if they can do that," Rodriguez said.
"Many of the areas were not in the flood plain and so they don't have flood insurance. Some of them had some but not enough, so this is going to be a big problem," Workman said.
All of the money donated will go to those with homes damaged by the flood.
