Jersey City's burgeoning food scene

Posted: Updated:
NEW JERSEY (MYFOXNY.COM) -

In the shadows of Lower Manhattan is a brand new food scene that is rivaling some of the trendiest spots in New York: that scene is in Jersey City.

Whether you're looking for a brand new gastropub, great Mexican food or fine dining, Jersey City -- becoming known as the sixth borough -- might be a place for you.

Eric Levin, a senior editor for New Jersey Monthly, gave Fox 5 the rundown of some places to not to miss.

Park and Sixth is a gastropub with a chill vibe and friendly staff.

If you're craving steak in a more fancy setting, Liberty Prime Steakhouse is serving up some of the best meals in town.

And not too far from fine dining is the Orale Mexican Kitchen. The owner, Alex Mendelsohn, said that there is a need for new places with all the people living and moving to Jersey City.
