Austin is losing 100 jobs, but they are not going far. The company, called Tracking Point, which makes a high-tech targeting system for sport rifles, is heading to Pflugerville.
Its headquarters and manufacturing center was located in a commercial area located near Metric and Burnet.
Thursday morning, an official ribbon cutting ceremony was held at its new location in Pflugerville near SH 130.
Company officials say the 48,000 square foot building will give them the opportunity to do more research, testing and possible expansion.
The company makes a special targeting system for hunters and competition shooters. CEO Jason Schauble says Pflugerville is a good fit for them.
City leaders say the company is part of a strategy to build a more diverse tax base and transform Pflugerville into more than just a bedroom community.
