Study: Apologizing Too Much At Work Is Counterproductive

According to a new study from the Chartered Management Institute, women are apologizing too much.
It's called being a "Sorry Skirt." Instead of walking into a meeting and just saying, "Sorry I'm late," women tend to over-explain and give excuses.
Experts say that this behavior shows a lack of confidence. The report also states that women don't publicize their achievements as much as men do.
According to the Institute, 60% of junior managers are women, but only 20% of senior managers are women.
A reason for the lack of promotion? According to the chief executive of the Chartered Management Institute, women try to meet the majority of requirements before applying, but men put themselves forward even if a he only ticks a few key requirements.
