PEORIA, Ariz. -

There's a mystery in one Peoria neighborhood as residents wonder how someone threw at least eight large rocks through car windows and got away.

Neighbors didn't see or hear anything, but they want answers.

James Gieese found a four pound intruder Saturday morning.

After someone hurled the rock through his car,  it landed in the backseat.

"Saw there was a rock in there, no other damage or anything, no other vandalism or items taken," said James Gieese.

At least eight other neighbors in a Peoria community near 75th Avenue and Thunderbird woke up to their cars vandalized.

Large rocks shattered windows and tail lights all along this street.

Joe Hoyt found a rock between his front seats.

"The rock was literally laying on top of a Mountain Dew bottle," said Hoyt. "They had to have done it out of a moving vehicle because it went all the way to the front of my car."

Police don't have any suspects, but they think the culprits are teenagers.

So does Hoyt, because nothing was stolen there.

"Just bored teenagers, that's what I would think. Kids who don't have any respect for anyone's property," said Hoyt.

The random targets, families and neighbors, are now trying to pick up the pieces and clean up the mess.

"Luckily there's no body damage. Glass is glass, but it's time out of my day and money out of my pocket," said Hoyt. "Some people don't have insurance. Some people have to pay deductibles. It's a hassle."

Peoria police are hoping someone saw something that may lead them to vandals.

Neighbors believe it happened late Friday night or early Saturday morning.

If you have any information you are urged to call police.
