Rushing flood waters damaged bridges, leaving neighbors trapped and delayed the opening of Barton Springs Pool.
Barton Springs Pool was scheduled to reopen after the cleanup from the last flood a few weeks ago. But after flooding last Wednesday night, Austin Parks and Rec says it may take a couple of weeks before it opens again.
They say first they have to wait for the flooding to stop. Then they have to clear the debris and let the waters clear up. Divers also have to be sent in to the bottom to make sure nothing dangerous is under there for swimmers.
Folks who live in the Arroyo Doble neighborhood in south Austin tell us they were pretty much cut off from the rest of the world today because of what happened to their two bridges thanks to Onion Creek and Bear Creek that run right through there.
Debris piled up and ripped some of the asphalt right off the road. Also a mysterious SUV washed up which neighbors don't seem to know where that came from.
Some of the Arroyo Doble folks had to rely on each other to make walking trips to the store for supplies because they couldn't get their cars across the bridge.
