Mendez Middle School receives $20K in music instruments
An Austin middle school now has some shiny new instruments for music programs. It's all thanks to a donation from an investment company.
Fidelity Investments surprised Mendez Middle School students with $20,000 worth of new musical instruments.
The school is now proud owners of new violins, violas, clarinets, saxophones, string basses, and a new cello and euphonium.
"These kids can accomplish as much, if not more than, any kid at any school given the proper resources and guidance. And we're trying to do our best guiding them, and thanks to Fidelity Investments, getting resources like this is helping us meet our goal," Mendez Middle School Orchestra and Guitar Director Jeffery Hall said.
Fidelity Investments says they have already donated musical instruments to over 200 schools and 30,000 students.
