Bastrop ISD will soon be rolling out some new diversity and sensitivity training.
The district is partnering with the U.S. Department of Justice to help increase cultural awareness between the community and the district.
This comes on the heels of discrimination allegations against Bastrop ISD in 2011. African- American students say they were asked to meet up with a school principal as a group about low TAKS scores.
Bastrop ISD Superintendent Steve Murray said, "Bastrop ISD is excited to be partnering with the department of justice and their community relations services to provide training in diversity and cultural awareness."
