Man sentenced to 28 years in prison for beating wife
A Round Rock man accused of beating his wife was sentenced to 28 years in prison.
Prosecutors say last January, John Edward Rago and his common law wife Kendra Lott had been arguing, and she decided to walk home. When she got there, Rago met her in the driveway and beat her with the butt of a gun. He then took her to their horse stables and kicked her, breaking a rib and collapsing her lung.
Authorities say she couldn't get treatment until Rago left for work the next morning.
