A South Austin home was completely destroyed Friday morning after a 2-alarm fire tore through the house.
At around 6:30 a.m., firefighters were called to the scene of a fire at a home in the 600 block of Dawson Rd and Daniel Drive. When firefighters arrived, they saw flames shooting nearly twenty feet high out of the roof of the home.
Because the home was a modern structure, fire crews had to use a special Grade-A foam to extinguish the flames after unsuccessful attempts using water. The house was completely destroyed.
The Austin Fire Department said that no one was inside the home at the time of the fire, and that there were no injuries.
A house next door sustained some fire damage and a car a car was destroyed as well. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
