A Central Texas elementary was locked down after their principal heard what he thought was gunshots.
Just before 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon just as APD had arrived to the scene to execute a warrant reports of gunshots began being called in.
Staff at Walnut Creek Elementary placed one of those calls and the school was immediately placed on lockdown.
At 4:15 p.m. the lockdown was lifted after APD figured out that the gunshots were actually distractionary devices used serving a warrant. Police say it is not a SWAT situation but it is an active scene in the area.
As for the school, it has been given the all clear.
