Construction solutions puts 130-year-old tree at risk of removal

Tuesday night TxDOT and the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority talked about plans to ease traffic congestion in Oak Hill.

A short-term solution is more turning lanes and continuous flow intersections. While this construction aims to solve one problem, it brings up another.

A 130-year-old oak tree that is at the corner of William Cannon and Hwy 290 could be at risk of being cut down, which is a disappointment to many residents in the area.

The Austin Heritage Tree Foundation is working on ways to save it.
