GLENDALE, Ariz. -

Glendale Police are investigating a triple shooting that happened in a parking lot early Sunday morning near 75th Avenue and Glendale.

Witnesses describe it as a shootout in the parking lot of Eddie's Hookah Lounge.

Saturday night, the lounge hosted a party for the 18-and-over crowd.

Police say some words were exchanged inside, which led to gunfire outside.

Bullets and shell casings littered the parking lot in front of Eddie's Hookah Lounge.

Police say there were hundreds of young people standing around during the shooting.

"An outburst of bullets and gunshots ringing out, it sounded like a semiautomatic, a pistol and a shotgun," said Michael Valencia.

Valencia lives nearby and heard the commotion.

Police say it started as a verbal fight between two groups inside the lounge, then continued in the parking lot.

Someone pulled out a gun and fired.

"There had to be over a dozen because at first, I thought I heard firecrackers going off," said Valencia. "I realized that it wasn't because I heard return pops. It was like an automatic weapon at first, then I heard 'pop pop pop,' like someone had a hand pistol or something."

In all, three people were shot, including two bystanders.

One man who was involved in the fight was hit.

Witnesses say, a woman and a teenage girl, who were standing away from the fight, were hit by stray bullets.

Fortunately, the two girls who were hit by the stray bullets are going to be okay.

Police are still looking for the shooters and the people involved in the fight.
