More and more people across north Georgia are seeing bears in their neighborhoods.

FOX 5 has received numerous photos from viewers showing the furry animals wandering in streets, backyards and, of course, trees.

Experts says an acorn shortage could be to blame. Officials with the Department of Natural Resources say large amounts of rain from this spring and summer have stunted the growth of acorns in north Georgia, sending bears down from the mountains into the suburbs scavenging for food.

Wildlife officials warn residents DO NOT get close to the bears. Instead, just scroll through the pictures of bears above!

If you do happen to have any bear pictures, post them on the FOX 5 Facebook page. You can also upload them here. Remember, do NOT put yourself in danger to take pictures of bears.
