Posted: Updated:

For the second time in a matter of days, an Austin Police Department vehicle was involved in an auto accident.

According to APD, at about 9:00 a.m. in the 9100 block of Research Blvd southbound, an officer running radar from a police cruiser parked on the side of the road was hit by an oncoming vehicle. The driver of that vehicle was said to have been weaving in and out of traffic, and struck the police vehicle after he lost control.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The APD officer was also transported by EMS as a precaution.
