Pizza Delivery Man Shows Patriotism

Pizza Delivery Man Shows Patriotism

Posted: Updated:

"Welcome to Pizza Hut on Lake Harbor drive, this is Ken. Is this for carry out or delivery?" he asks.

Ken Swarts isn't your average pizza guy. It's not what he carries. It's how he carries it: in red white and blue.

Ken drives a 2001 Pontiac Firebird that he hand-painted with pride.

"What's more American than, like a flag, car and pizza!?" he says.

For Ken, the honks, the knocks and the tips come with great joy.

"I like my customers, the people we work with here are really great," he says.

"I like his car, he's put a lot of money into his car," says Laurice Simmons, a fellow Pizza Delivery Driver.

"A 400 function horn," Swarts elaborates.

And the hood has all 50 stars, each one with the real US Postal Service commemorative state stamp.

"When I'm in a service, and it's patriotic, man I tear up," Swarts says.

Ken's father served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.

"To give us freedom in this world, the sacrifice they made," Swarts says.
