Police were responding to another call when an officer recognized a vehicle that appeared to belong to Nick Steward on the 1900 block of Westmoreland Drive.

The 2008 Saturn Acura looks to be in good condition, the Lake County State's Attorney's office said. Authorities have taken it to a secure location to search for evidence.

When asked if they expected foul play, Lake County State's Attorney Michael Nerheim said anything is possible.

Asked if Steward may have run away, Nerheim responded, "We are keeping every option open and we're looking at every angle and we certainly hope that is the case but we'll keep looking until we find him."

The state's attorney's office and Lake Villa and Vernon Hills police are investigating and continue the search for Steard.

The 33-year-old man was last seen Sept. 20 as he left his job in Wood Dale. His Saturn was spotted driving through Touhy toll plaza.
