When Jack Bauer returns to duty he will gear up and take aim overseas: across the pond in London, FOX announced.

"24: Live Another Day," a 12-episode event series, will debut summer 2014. Emmy Award winner Kiefer Sutherland reprises his role as Bauer and will face bad guys in England.

"'24' has always had such a global sensibility," Sutherland said in a news release. "But to be able to tell this intense '24'-style story with the beauty of Europe's history and architecture as the backdrop is going to be fascinating. Hopefully, by the time you're finished watching an episode, you'll feel like you've been there...on the edge of your seat."

The original "24" television series ran for eight seasons from 2001 through 2010, winning the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series in 2006. Seasons 1 through 6 were set primarily in Los Angeles. Season 7 was set in Washington, D.C., and Season 8 took place in New York.

The show's signature real-time format meant that each season featured 24 episodes chronicling events unfolding over 24 hours. The new event series, although only 12 episodes, will also tell a story that takes place over 24 hours.

Robert De Niro says Tribeca Film Festival is his passion

Robert De Niro is a family man, a filmmaker, an entrepreneur and one of my favorite actors of all time. He's also a co-founder of the Tribeca Film Festival, which has more to see than ever before. De Niro wears just as many hats on screen as he does in real life. The father of six starred in six films last year, owns four restaurants and a hotel, and still finds time each spring for the Tribeca Film Festival, Lower Manhattan's annual cinematic showcase.
