Around 1 Sunday morning, Travis County first responders had to rescue a 50-year-old man stranded in a low water crossing on Greg Lane just off of 973.
A spokesman for the county says the man was on the roof of his vehicle.
Fortunately they were able to get a harness on him and air-lift him to safety.
At 6 am, crews rescued 6 others in different cars along the road.
Samantha Hicks is building a house on 973. She's been camping on the property during construction and she saw first-hand some of the water emergencies nearby.
"We woke up and the power in the camper was off. And so we went outside to check on the circuit breaker and there was water already up onto the steps inside," Hicks said.
She and her friends packed their bags, put on boots and waded in waist deep water to get to safety.
"There were cops over here and a firetruck and they like literally threw us a rope across the water because the current is so strong with the ditch right here," Hicks said.
Samantha says the home she's building is on stilts so she's hoping it's ok.
Travis County tells us fortunately no one was injured during the rescues.
