UPPER PROVIDENCE, Pa. -

Drivers in Upper Providence got a four-legged surprise on Wednesday when a deer leaped into traffic and landed on a lady's small Toyota during rush hour.

Traveling south on Route 252, the woman‘s car made impact with a deer collapsing the roof and shattering her windshield. Luckily she was unharmed. Witnesses say the impact made a huge noise.

Officer Fred Mason of the Upper Providence Police was the first to arrive to the scene. He made sure the woman was safe, then he parked his car to avoid traffic and harm to the deer.

Drivers became impatient and started yelling, "Shoot it and let's go."

This officer truly has a heart. He opened his police truck then captured the frightened and wounded animal and led it back to safely in the woods.

Officer Mason then helped the lady in the Toyota to move her car back to traffic.
