Call Made For Ed Rendell To Run For Mayor

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

A Philadelphia real estate developer hopes to convince Ed Rendell to run for mayor in 2015.

He has launched a "Draft Ed" initiative.

He says the city and its financially failing schools need Rendell more than ever.

Rendell was the city's mayor from 1991 to 2000 before serving two terms as Pennsylvania governor.

Critics say it's far-fetched to believe the 69-year-old would run again when you consider what he's able to earn in the private sector.

Rendell has not commented on the call for him to step back into the political arena.
