Swastikas scrawled on 14 cars on Long Island

Police on Long Island are investigating after 14 vehicles were found with swastikas scrawled over their windows.

All the graffiti was found in Bethpage between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday.

It was drawn in blue chalk.

Police are investigating the incidents as a hate crime. They're asking anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800 244-TIPS.

According to detectives the locations and vehicles involved:

· Park Lane – 2004 GMC, 2007 Nissan Maxima, 2004 Jeep

· Whaley Avenue – 1984 Buick Lacrosse, 2004 Honda Odyssey, 2001 Dodge Durango and a 2001 Ford Mustang.

· Columbia Street – 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche

· Lowell Street – 2002 Volvo

· Irving Street – 2006 Ford Taurus

· Rose Street – 2003 Chevrolet Pickup Truck and a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu

· Essen Place – 2000 Nissan Pathfinder

· Roosevelt Drive – 1992 Cadillac

Ziggy has been has been cleaned up and has undergone physical therapy. Babylon town employees took three and a half hours to remove nearly four pounds of matted hair after they found him. Ziggy's fur was so matted and his nails so overgrown that he could barely walk.

    Police on Long Island say one person has died and another has been seriously injured in a skydiving accident. Riverhead police say it happened at about 4 p.m. Wednesday at Skydive Long Island in Calverton. Police say the injured person was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition.
