TX Retailers Association drops lawsuit over Austin bag ban

Posted: Updated:

The Texas Retailers Association has dropped a lawsuit against the city regarding Austin's Ban on single use bags.

The ordinance, which went into effect in March, regulates the type of bags that can be offered at retailers within the city.

Since it went into effect, city officials say they have received few complaints about it and that most businesses and consumers are adjusting well.

The Texas Retailers Association claimed that the ordinance violated the state's health and safety code, but has dismissed the claims.
