Government to auction off Jackson Jr.`s memorabilia

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Memorabilia from convicted former Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr.'s will be sold via an online auction starting Tuesday.

The 13 items for sale at include fur coats, capes, a guitar signed by Michael Jackson and Eddie Van Halen and assorted Michael Jackson and Bruce Lee memorabilia, the U.S. Marshals Service said Monday.

The auction will begin Tuesday and end Sept. 26.

Net proceeds from the sale will offset Jackson's $750,000 money judgment that was filed in federal court on Aug. 19, U.S. Marshals said.

Jackson was sentenced to 30 months in prison in August after pleading guilty to spending about $750,000 in campaign funds on personal items and expenses.
