There has finally been an arrest in the case of a missing Austin mother from three and a half years ago.
Twenty-one-year-old Julie Ann Gonzalez disappeared in March 2010.
Friday, her estranged husband is in jail and charged with her murder.
The last time, Gonzalez's family saw her was March 26, 2010, after dropping off her daughter with her estranged husband George De La Cruz.
Just days after she disappeared, her family begged for help right here on FOX 7 because they believed the authorities weren't doing enough.
A few days later, her car was found abandoned in a Walgreens parking lot.
Gonzalez's family even turned to a talk show to get national attention. De La Cruz failed a lie detector test on the program, which can't be used in court but it disturbed her family.
FOX 7 spoke with De La Cruz shortly after she went missing.
"I was the last person to see her and I understand I would be the suspect. But like I said...I didn't do nothing...I'm just trying to help too," De La Cruz said.
Friday, the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested De La Cruz. He's charged with murder, a 1st degree felony. And his bond is set at $500,000. APD says the case is still under investigation.
