An Austin salon owner was giving back by giving some teenagers who've had some struggles a new look and a little extra confidence.
Stylists at the Janet Saint Paul Studio for Hair gave free makeovers to a group of eight teen girls who've worked with the non-profit Life-works.
Some of the girls who were chosen have been homeless, some are teens parents, and many have been in foster care. But Life-works is helping them change the directions of their lives.
Salon owner Janet Saint Paul says it's been almost two years since she opened the salon and says she wanted to do something to pay it forward.
"It doesn't mean anything to have success without having something to say, 'Thank you so much, we're so grateful, we want to pass it on," Saint Paul said.
The experience was also a learning experience for Gabrielle Ramos who says she'd like to do hair and makeup herself someday.
"I love it! I actually do, I love it. I like it a lot. It's more what I expected, what I was trying to do my hair like," Ramos said.
Saint Paul says she's planning another charity makeover event for October.
