Saturday's a big day! Thousands of burnt-orange-wearing Longhorn fans will descend upon downtown Austin for UT's season opener.
Tailgaters like Keith Patek with Shiner's Smokehouse are already getting set up.
"Come out here, set up early, tailgate, get some brisket going, barbecue, enjoy some cold beer and after that watch the Texas Longhorns win," Patek said.
Terry McMahan, Assistant Chief of UT Police says the rules haven't changed since last year but there are still plenty of 'no-no's' in the stadium.
"No backpacks, no umbrellas, tripods, video cameras, things like that," McMahan said.
McMahan says heat will be a big issue tomorrow as well.
"Weather is going to be in the 100's early in the day. It will cool off a little bit towards 7:00 kick but we do want our folks to be well nourished and well hydrated and just take care of yourself, keep as cool as you can," McMahan said.
That's something tailgaters like Patek and his buddy Chris Moya are all too aware of.
"I don't know, probably drink some more cold beer. That's probably a good idea. Maybe some cold towels around the neck, that might help a little bit. Stay hydrated I guess," Patek said.
"Well we got a couple of fans we're going to try to set up. Maybe try to get some cool misters out here, we're still working on that one. It's gonna be out but you've got some cool beverages to kind of brave that one out," Moya said.
UT rules say if you want to tailgate, you can do that in all of the parking areas surrounding the stadium. Open flames are not permitted in the parking garages so keep that in mind.
Even though UT is not being as hard on purses as the NFL is they're still keeping the size limit at 12x18 inches, no bags bigger than that.
