The Big Yell and Texas football town hall meeting celebrates UT's traditions. It's a pep rally of sorts, to get ready for the season's first football game.
The Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies may not play in the same conference anymore, but there's still plenty of opinions on the AG's quarterback, Johnny Manziel.
Wednesday it was announced Manziel will be suspended for the first half of the Aggies' season-opening game against Rice for an "inadvertent violation" of NCAA rules regarding autograph signing.
According to a school rep, both A&M and the NCAA found "there is no evidence Manziel received monetary reward in exchange for autographs."
"I don't think anybody's really taking it seriously. It should be more of a serious matter. He should have a much worse punishment than he did," said one UT student.
Another UT student said, "I don't think it's severe enough at all. I think if you're going to suspend Dez Bryant and suspend Myck Kabongo when they did not break the rules and clearly Johnny Manziel violated multiple violations of the NCAA rulebook. Even though, they are really lame, he still violated them and should have to pay just like our boy Mike did."
