On Austin City Council's Thursday agenda is an item to approve a resolution initiating amendments to the city code in response to recommendations from the Lake Austin Task Force.
The amendments relate to the Townlake shoreline and dock development, plus registration and identification of docks.
The recommendations also include having the city manager prepare an ordinance related to wake zones, evaluate the implementation of certain fees and implement enforcement of water quality.
City Council Member Mike Martinez said, "There are recommendations as to how much of a dock you can repair, how often you can repair it and what's required as far as terms of permitting for doing those repairs, upgrades and or building new docks."
Thursday, council can take action to approve a resolution that would initiate the amendments recommended by the Lake Austin Task Force.
It wouldn't put anything in place, just allow those ordinances to be drafted.
