An Austin man has been arrested for allegedly firing shots at a moving vehicle during a botched drug deal. Daylyn Bunton has been charged with Deadly Conduct.
On August 25th, Bunton, 17, was attempting to sell marijuana to another man in front of his home in the 7200 block of Gunnison Pass. According to arrest documents, the buyer attempted to pay Bunton with "fake" money and then leave the scene. Bunton allegedly pulled out a revolver pistol and fired shots at the buyer's vehicle after he failed to stop.
Bunton then got inside his vehicle and began to chase the buyer's vehicle eastbound on US 290 and continued to fire shots at the vehicle, according to APD.
After observing the Buick Lesabre being driven by Bunton, APD officers were able to stop and detain him. Inside the vehicle, officers allegedly saw and seized an Ultra Light .38 Special revolver from the driver side floor board. Officers also found two small baggies containing marijuana in the back of the vehicle.
Bunton's bond has been set at $20,000.
